In 2011, Sean Stewart decided to take a chance and attend college eight hours from home. Now he knows he made the right decision. As graduation approaches, he plans to pursue a career in finance/investment banking and hopes he can use what he learned at the University of Arkansas to become a leader in that field.
He credits his professors in the Sam M. Walton College of Business, who not only taught him skills in the classroom but also gave him insight about current and emerging issues in finance from their experience in the field, and motivated him to achieve academic success.
Following his freshman year, he was asked to serve as a peer mentor for the Freshman Business Connections class. He became an economics Supplemental Instruction leader starting in spring 2013. Finally, he got involved in Greek Life and eventually became president of his fraternity.
His education and leadership experience led him to intern as an analyst for Ross Stores in New York City last summer. After graduation, he will return to New York to work as two-year analyst in Hall Capital’s portfolio management. Then he plans to pursue a Master of Business Administration and start a career in investment banking as an associate. He also aspires to teach one day to have the same impact on college students that his professors had on him.
