Alumnus Chris Raff BSBA’73, JD’76 and his wife, Vickie, of Searcy are always among the first Razorback fans to arrive when the doors open at the Janelle Y. Hembree House for Hog Wild Tailgates. It’s their own game-day tradition!
“My whole family graduated from the University of Arkansas,” Chris Raff said. “I joined the (Arkansas) Alumni Association as soon as I graduated. Coming to Fayetteville and the University brings back so many memories. There’s nowhere else in the world I’d love to be on game day than the Alumni House.”
The Raffs have been coming to Hog Wild Tailgates for so many years that they don’t remember a football season when they didn’t come to the Alumni House as part of their pre-game routine.
The Arkansas Alumni Association hosts Hog Wild Tailgates prior to each Fayetteville home football game, starting two and a half hours before kickoff and ending 30 minutes before kickoff. The event, just steps from Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium, features tailgating food and beverages from Kruton’s, Shake’s Frozen Custard and entertainment from the Razorback band and cheerleaders.
“It’s a great facility and great people,” Chris Raff said. “The staff does a great job. They really get you in the Razorback spirit before games.”
“We’ve met lots of friends here,” Vickie Raff added.

The tailgates are open to all Alumni Association members and their guests. The cost is $15 for members and $25 for guests. Members may bring one guest at member price!
