Wyatt Durrell Weems, the former president of the Black Alumni Society, died July 18 in Little Rock. He was 49. Weems was born June 1, 1961, to Clifford E. Weems and Mamie L. Weems. He graduated from Northeast High School in 1979.
Weems attended the University of Arkansas in the 1980s and always wanted to connect with African American alumni. His participation with the Black Alumni Society gave him that chance as well as provided an opportunity to guide students.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Clevetta, two sons, three brothers, one sister and many other relatives.
Cathye Carter Bradford of Little Rock, BSCSE ’84 Engineering died on Monday, August 2, 2010. She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Cameron, Carmen, Courtney and Christian Bradford, of Little Rock; one grandchild, Camille Brooks; former husband and children’s father, Gaylin Bradford; her mother, Thelma Carter of Little Rock; three brothers, Roderick Carter of Little Rock, Marc Preston of Houston, Texas, Fredrick Carter Jr. of Sacramento, Calif.; and one sister, Faye Carter of Little Rock.

Jacquard “Jack” Clark of Hot Springs, who passed away Monday, July 5, 2010. He is survived by three children Asia Crosslin, Jasmine Clark and Indigo Clark, all of Malvern; his parents Jesse and Edna Williams Clark of Malvern; two sisters, Sharon Clark McClure (Steven) of Curtis and Jessica Clark of Malvern.
Lakeysha Greene BSBA ’97 Walton, MED ’99 and children, Wesleigh, and Wyndell II of Frisco, Texas died on May 28, 2010. Survivors include her husband, Wyndell Greene MBA ’98; her mother, Marilyn Hardeman; two sisters, Andrea Brewer and DaQuita Hardeman; and a number of other relatives.
Edward Ray McKeel BA ’76 passed to “sweet rest” in the arms of Jesus on April 13, 2010. Edward is survived by brother, Dr. Thomas (Rebecca) McKeel of Leawood, Kan., sister, Agather C. McKeel of Little Rock, Ark.
Arletha McAllister Manley MED ’76 departed this world on Monday, Feb. 15, 2010. She is survived by her three children: Merike Ann Manley of Kansas City, Mo., Ritche Anita Manley BSIE ’86 (Dr. Phillip) Bowden of Memphis, and Sydnee Carol Manley BA ’86, BSBA ’90 of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Michelle Jones Manley, Deen Malik Bowden and Dia Tseday Bowden; one sister, Lexene Holley Brockman of Morrilton; three brothers, James Franklin of Morrilton, Amazair II and William Kenney McAllister both of Kansas City, Mo., nieces, nephews, a host of relatives, associates and friends.
Dr. C. Calvin Smith PhD ’78 died Dec. 24, 2009. He is survived by his wife Earline and a son, C.C. In addition, he leaves a sister, Gladys Smith, and brothers Julius and Alfred Smith.
