My name is Abby Kordsmeier, and I am a freshman at the University of Arkansas. I am from Conway, AR; however, selecting where I wanted to attend college was not a difficult decision for me. Both my grandparents and parents attended the U of A, so I am just carrying on the legacy. I grew up going to Razorback games of every sport. Basketball, football, baseball, you name it and I have been. Calling the hogs was like an instinct for me. You can bet it was one of the very first things my family taught me to do. I have so many memories of Razorback games and adventures in Fayetteville with my family and cannot wait to make so many more since I actually get to live here for the next four years. My first semester at the U of A was all that I expected it to be and more. My family came up for every home football game, and we had so much fun tailgating and cheering on our hogs. It’s nice having a family filled with such dedicated hog fans because it makes it easy to get to see them all the time since they drive the two and a half hour drive to Fayetteville often. I plan to graduate from the U of A with a nursing degree, so I am enrolled in a lot of sciences. I took Chemistry and Biology my first semester and am currently in Anatomy. I plan to begin nursing school in the spring of 2016 and I am so excited for the new adventure in my life. I want to eventually become a Pediatrics’ Advanced Practitioner Nurse. I cannot wait to see what the future as an Arkansas Razorback holds for me, and I am tremendously grateful for all the opportunities the U of A has to offer.
