The Arkansas Alumni Association has awarded Casey O’Grady with the 2011 Endowed Scholarship. Attending high school in Longwood, FL, O’Grady stayed involved in swimming, soccer, student government and the Jefferson Awards Students in Action program. Her interest in athletics, academics and community service led her to decide that the University of Arkansas was her school of choice.
“I sincerely thank you for selecting me to receive the Arkansas Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship for $6,500 a year. Since I am coming from Florida, this scholarship has really opened the door for me to attend the University of Arkansas. It is an honor to have been chosen, and I am extremely excited for next fall,” she said in her thank you letter.
Anxious to be a student in the engineering program, she plans to spend her time on campus studying, getting involved in a sorority and attending Arkansas Razorback sporting events.
“I cannot thank you enough for giving me this amazing opportunity. I feel very blessed to receive this scholarship and I still cannot stop smiling when I think about it! Because of the Alumni Association, I know my future in Arkansas will be full of endless opportunities. I am thrilled to embark on this college adventure and I am so grateful for your support!”
