My name is Wei Zhang and I am a freshman studying accounting at University of Arkansas. When I first found out that I got accept to the University of Arkansas in the winter of my senior of high school year, I was very excited because Fayetteville is a beautiful place with amazing weather, and the coolest thing is that Sam M. Walton College of Business is in the top 25 business colleges in the United States. I felt my goal is set. I’ve been accepted into the Walton honors college as an undergraduate business major and I’m looking forward to graduating from this prestigious school.
I have also met so many interesting people along the way. I have been able to make friendships with people from all over the world. It has been so fun to exchange colloquialisms and traditions. I am able to experience so many wonderful things as a student at the University of Arkansas and I am very excited to see what these next four years will bring.
Coming overseas from China to the United States, English is my second language and I have accomplished learning it in the time required. I went to high school and graduated as an honors student with a 3.71 GPA. This is no longer a dream for me. I am closer to my dream.
The programs that are in this college will help me become more successful, the leadership program, the fraternity and the culture club are providing many different things to me that I have never learned in my life or from studying a book. The other thing I have learned from college is to live in trust, faith and hope. Don’t ever give up on hope too easily and don’t be scared to fight back the reality. Also, staying positive and aiming for the goal.
