Hello!  My name is Richard Welcher, and I’m writing to you from Fayetteville on behalf of the Arkansas Alumni Association. A graduate of the College of Engineering, I currently serve on the National Board of Directors and continue to support the University of Arkansas as an Annual Member of the association.

I am a very proud alumnus of the U of A and am grateful for the opportunity to serve as an ambassador for my alma mater. Being a Razorback and a graduate of the College of Engineering (as well as concurrently holding adjunct professorship positions in both the Department of Civil Engineering and the Fay Jones School of Architecture) are components of my personal brand and the University of Arkansas is a cornerstone upon which I have constructed my life. Studying at the U of A left me well-positioned for personal and professional success upon leaving campus.  Membership in the Arkansas Alumni Association has provided me with the opportunity to stay informed and connected to the community while also giving me an avenue to support prospective and current students as well as fellow alumni.  Membership has also allowed me to engage more fully with the campus community and in ways above and beyond those available even though I’m fortunate enough to live near and actually teach a few classes on campus periodically.

I’d like to invite you to activate your membership today. As a new or returning member, you will have the opportunity to claim a gift – a token of our gratitude for your support. Additionally, you may extend your member discounts to any close family member who is a current U of A student. Will you please join us in making the University of Arkansas family even stronger? Please return the enclosed form or, if more convenient, visit our online membership portal at join.arkansasalumni.org

If you have any questions, please contact the Arkansas Alumni Association at 1-800-ARK-ALUM or membership@arkansasalumni.org. We look forward to hearing from you!
