As we embark on a new calendar year, the Association staff is reminded how much you, our volunteer, means to the University. The University faces difficult challenges in the year ahead with the economy’s wrath reaching into higher education. It is the work of dedicated alumni and friends here in Fayetteville and through our programs nationwide that help the University to continue to connect and serve our University family in such times. A new year represents great opportunities for alumni groups to refocus their efforts and set new goals. The Association staff is here to help and support you in these endeavors – please contact us and let us know how we can help you!
The Association underwent major change to start the fiscal/academic year with a reorganization of our programs and services. This reorganization was a result of a strategic plan that seeks to make your alumni association a model for others to follow. As we have worked to transition from a program-based model to a geographic-based program model, our goal was to improve our service and support for volunteers. As we reach the mid-point of our first year, we want to hear back from you. Please share your thoughts with us below by leaving us a comment.
New changes are here in 2009 as well! In addition to this website, the Association has launched its Drive for Thirty-Five membership challenge. This membership challenge seeks to reach the membership milestone of 35,000 members. We currently stand at 26,000+ members and we will need your help to reach this goal.
This blog series is designed to bring the latest news and information about volunteering and celebrating the work of our dedicated volunteers! If you have thoughts about topics you would like addressed or need some peer support on, please share them with us.
