What is something you are involved in on campus, and why did you choose to get involved?
Over this past summer, I became treasurer of a new RSO on campus, UNICEF at the University of Arkansas. UNICEF at the U of A officially registered this Fall Semester as a branch of the main organization, UNICEF, and already has over 40 members. UNICEF is a very well-known organization around the world that works in more than 190 countries and had a revenue of over $6.5 million in 2018.We are actively holding fundraising events, such as selling Rick’s Bakery cookies for a $1 each, and plan on holding big events for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I chose to get involved by becoming an officer because I am passionate about what UNICEF stands for, which is to provide emergency food and healthcare to children and mothers in countries that have been devastated by World War II. All of the money raised for UNICEF at the University of Arkansas is given back to UNICEF so that they can provide food, healthcare, and education to children and mothers in affected countries.
