Hello Alumni,

Connecting with the past…

On September 13, 2019, Dr. Gordon Morgan and Dr. Margaret Clark were honored with residential hall dedications.  Many of us have fond memories of being taught, advised, mentored, coached and yes, also being reprimanded by one or both of these icons.   They encouraged each of us to give 110% and strive to be better than our peers. It is most fitting that their accomplishments, contributions and successes are being recognized and memorialized with a residential dedication.  Please join me in congratulating Dr. Morgan and Dr. Clark.

Engage and be present…

Meet us in Dallas for the Southwest Classic Festivities, Wednesday, September 25th through September 28th. The BAS Southwest Classic Mixer with the Texas Aggies’ Former Black Students Network is September 27th, 7:00 pm at Sandaga 813 on Exposition Ave. Use the link in this newsletter for additional information and to RSVP by September 21st! www.arkansasalumni.org/BASmixer19

Inspire for the future…

BAS has partnered with the Office for Diversity and Inclusion, the Latino Alumni Society, the U of A Enrollment Services and several other U of A units to present:  The College Readiness Program: Boots on the Ground.  The event is happening today – September 26th – at St. John Baptist Church in Southlake, Texas. The readiness program will give students many tools to navigate their college journeys and obtain scholarships and financial aid.  If you know a student who would benefit from this program, please share the link in this newsletter so they can register and attend.   www.arkansasalumni.org/CRP19
