A Wild Semester Wrap-up

First, our hearts go out to our colleagues at the University of Alabama, our alumni in the Southeast and all individuals who have been in the path of the recent severe weather this spring. In today’s technologically equipped world, we have seen many firsthand accounts of encountering the storms and especially the aftermath they leave. From our own state, we have witnessed damage and praised escape. Even “The Hill” was not safe from these storms as we witnessed never seen before flooding in Fayetteville and around Northwest Arkansas.

Dallas Chapter Receives 2010 Mace Award

The Dallas Chapter of the Arkansas Alumni Association was named the 2010 recipient of the Mace Award in recognition of its signature event – the Dallas Chapter Banquet. The award was presented during the 2011 chapter banquet on April 12. As a Mace Award recipient, the chapter’s name was inscribed on the base, and the chapter was awarded a $500 stipend to be used on a special event for the next fiscal year.

Tina Fletcher Learns From First Lady Obama During Internship

At 25 years old, Tina Fletcher has an impressive list of educational and professional accomplishments. From studying abroad and receiving a bachelor’s and master’s degree to interning with Sen. Blanche Lincoln’s office and working as an intern with the first lady Michelle Obama’s office, Fletcher is humbled by the experiences and opportunities she has been given at such a young age.
