Rob Casey of the Atlanta Chapter was surprised to hear his name called as the recipient of the 2009 Morris Fair Heart Award during the Arkansas Alumni Association’s Volunteer Summit award reception, but those who know him weren’t surprised at all.

Casey has been described as “a …consummate ambassador – always willing to promote, defend and support the University.” He is the volunteer leader who is engaged in the chapter and forgoes the challenge of traveling distances to attend events. He is also a proponent of young alumni and easily engages them in event participation.

The Morris Fair Heart Award was created by the Arkansas Alumni Association to honor a unique individual who exemplifies the volunteer spirit, enthusiasm and commitment that is the core of alumni chapter involvement.  The spirit of the award is to honor those individuals who give their “heart” to an alumni chapter and often do not stand in the spotlight for their contributions.  The recipient must be a member of the Arkansas Alumni Association.

Casey has been involved with the Atlanta Chapter for 17 years.  He served as president of the chapter and currently serves as secretary.

He is nearly always first to contribute–whether it’s his time, talents or financial resources and goes the extra mile to make sure that the event is successful in promoting the university and his beloved Razorbacks.
