R.E.A.L. Razorbacks hosted “Arkansas All Stars” on Tuesday, April 14, 2009. An outreach event for area youth, community service agencies, and volunteer organizations to serve local children in a fun-filled, safe environment!
R.E.A.L. Razorbacks partnered with 17 University of Arkansas registered student organizations to host carnival booths including face painting, ring and bean-bag tosses, Razorback tattoos, musical chairs, bobbing for apples, go fish, bowling, water pong, and fingernail painting. The children also enjoyed a moon-bounce on the patio of Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House.
There were a total of 100 student volunteers from participating RSOs, 35 chaperones and parents, and 115 local children who enjoyed pizza and beverages before attending the Arkansas Razorbacks baseball game. In addition, children of current students attended. This is the first year R.E.A.L Razorbacks has invited our own students -future alumni – and their children – legacies, with hopes of starting a tradition of allowing future Razorbacks to see the potential of their service.
The local organizations participating included Pagnozzi Charities, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Northwest Arkansas, Boys and Girls Club of Fayetteville, and the Yvonne Richardson Center.
