The RazorVETS Banquet is a time for students, staff, faculty and alumni, who have served, to celebrate their shared sacrifices, said Robert Ainley, assistant director of the Veterans Resource and Information Center.
The event will feature a three-course meal and will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Banquet is free for students, staff, faculty and alumni veterans to attend. Business formal or military dress uniform is encouraged.

The keynote speaker will be U of A alumnus John Register. A community partner award will also be given to A.G. and Goldie Russell of A.G. Russell Knives.
John Register received several track and field accolades while attending the U of A and twice qualified for the Olympic trials. Register served seven months in the U.S. Army in Southwest Asia during Operation Desert Storm. Register suffered an injury that resulted in the amputation of his left leg. This injury ruined his hopes of making the Olympic team, however, he later won a silver medal at at the Paralympics. In 2007 he was appointed by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice as one of eight members to advise the Secretary on foreign policy issues regarding disability.
The event is sponsored by Raymond James, university housing, Stephen and Susan Brighton, Charles Kinslow III, Woodmen of the World and First Security Bank.

A veteran and veteran dependent financial seminar from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. in the Arkansas Union Multicultural and Diversity Education Conference Room 404.
The Veteran’s Day breakfast for students, faculty and staff who are veterans from 8:30 a.m., to 10:30 a.m., in the Veterans Resource and Information Center at the Arkansas Union room 632.
A showing of the film “Lone Survivor,” and will be followed by a discussion panel and is open to all students 6 p.m. in the Reynolds Auditorium.
A presentation for the public by Dennis May, deputy director of Veteran Employment Service Offices, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Commuter Lounge in the Arkansas Union 6th Floor West.
