Gerald Jordan, a proud graduate of the University of Arkansas Class of 1970, joined the University of Arkansas faculty in 1995 as a professor in the Walter J. Lemke Department of Journalism. He is an experienced national journalist, having written for The Kansas City Star, The Boston Globe and The Philadelphia Inquirer. He is president of the Arkansas Alumni Association National Board of Directors and a founding leader of two Alumni Societies. He has also headed the Association’s scholarship committee. He is an A+ Life Member of the Arkansas Alumni Association.
I joined, immediately upon graduating in 1970, so that I could stay connected with the journalism department, with my classmates and with my school. That membership, in turn, has served me splendidly over the last 38 years. I couldn’t imagine that any experience would admirably substitute for my being a part of the Arkansas Alumni Association.

As a former student and UA graduate, let me say that Professor Jordan is a credit to the UA and the Arkansas Alumni Assocation.
His professionalism, skill and knowledge were all things that he willingly shared with his students. In doing so, he helped shape not only our professional lives, but our personal ones as well.
