My first year at the University of Arkansas has been nothing short of a whirlwind. From moving five hours from home, to joining a sorority, to exploring the campus I love so much, it’s been amazing. And although, the ending of my freshman year wasn’t what I was expecting, I’d still call it a success. I got to try every kind of coffee at my favorite shops. I got to watch the Razorbacks win in every sport except football. I got to stretch myself academically. But most importantly, I got to make some amazing memories with some amazing new friends.
My favorite thing to do on campus is walking around with my friends. That may seem simple or underwhelming, but with a campus like ours it’s never disappointing. I don’t know how many fun pictures and memories I have of my friends and I walking across Old Main Lawn to get insomnia cookies after a tough exam. Or the sweet pride I had showing my high school friends the place I choose to call home.
And that right there is my favorite thing about being a UofA student, it just feels like home. Every time Old Main plays the Alma Mater, I am reassured that this is the place where I am meant to be. This is the place I am meant to learn, grow, and challenge myself. And my alumni scholarship has helped me to do that and so much more. This scholarship has helped me focus less on financials and more on the academics and experiences; making me just that much more excited to return in the fall. WOOO PIG SOOIE.
