Earlier this summer, the Arkansas Alumni Association partnered with the Performance Enhancement Group, Ltd. of Houston to conduct the Alumni Attitude Study. All alumni with an active e-mail address on file were invited to participate in the twenty-five question survey. The survey was distributed to 46,680 alumni, with a presumed delivery of 43,886 e-mails. Only 2,670 alumni completed the survey for an overall response rate of 6.08%.
Through PEG’s Alumni Partnership Model ©, they encourage participating institutions to seek feedback and show the value of the feedback by using a high-quality process. The next step in the model is to communicate back with alumni that you have heard what was said through the process. This communication should be followed by action taken by the alumni program where needed to more effectively serve and connect alumni. Then programs are encouraged to solidify and institutionalize their changes and to check back against the results to measure impact.
The summary results and analysis by membership status and geographic territory are currently being reviewed by the Association staff to determine changes needed for daily business practices and adoption into the Association’s current strategic plan. The results from the study will also serve as a focal point in the Association’s upcoming Volunteer Summit in which volunteer leaders from all levels of Association programs will be on campus for a two-day interactive workshop.
The summary results of the 2009 Alumni Attitude Study for the Arkansas Alumni Association are now available online for alumni to review and provide feedback, comments and suggestions. In the coming months, the Association will highlight key findings from the report as related to our membership, communications and programming.
