shades of ebonyThe Black Alumni Society scholars will present their annual student program, Shades of Ebony, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 at the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House.

The theme for this year’s event is “Harlem Renaissance: Celebrating Culture through the Arts.” Airic Hughes B.A. ’11, a member of the Black Alumni Society, will be the keynote speaker.

Each year the scholars select a theme to highlight the accomplishments of African Americans. The theme will be celebrated throughout the evening with trivia questions based on the Harlem Renaissance. Students also will have an opportunity to showcase their talent and participate in the best dressed male and female competitions.
