The Mid-South Chapter of the Arkansas Alumni Association was recently re-organized and in celebration the chapter co-hosted a Forever Arkansas reception with the Association on February 29, 2012. The reception, held at the Offices of Askew Nixon Ferguson Architects, was well attended by alumni and friends. Current national board member Ritche Bowden was in attendance as well as past board members Gary Clark and David Hallin. The participants were thanked for their continued support and membership, as well as encouraged to become involved in the chapter and to stay connected to the University of Arkansas and the Association.
Representatives from the Association were on hand to discuss the many activities going on at the YOU of A – including the establishment of the Young Alumni Board, Helpin’ Like a Hog community service outreach and the upcoming Hog Wild Tailgating events. Several new members joined the Association and received “Rootin’ Like a Hog” T-shirts.
A great core group of young alumni – led by Young Alumni Chair Jonathan VanderSteeg – also attended the reception. This group is excited to get involved with the Mid-South Chapter and we’re glad to have their involvement. Look for future announcements regarding upcoming Young Alumni /Young at Heart Happy Hour events.
