Dear Alumni,
I want to take the time to express my gratitude and to say thank for your generous donations that are helping me fund my education here at the University of Arkansas through scholarship. Thank you for giving a portion of what you have to help me pursue my degrees in Economics and International Business. Many times on campus I hear the worries of my peers about finances and how they will pay for room and board, tuition, and even books. Fortunately, I do not have to worry about these things because of scholarships, especially the Black Alumni Scholarship. I do hope, however, that more students could receive financial assistance through the Black Alumni Society. I am asking for your help to make my desire to see more students of color receive financial assistance from this organization a reality. With more donations to the Black Alumni Society, more scholarships will be created and more of my financially-burdened peers will have the ability to apply for and to receive these scholarships making the day they walk across that stage for commencement an easier goal to attain. If this vision is implemented, I believe less students of color will withdraw from the university more of these students will stay at the university and will receive that degree that is so vital to be successful in this society. After their graduation, these students will become alumni, creating a foundation for our black alumni network to be even stronger than it is today.
Again, I am grateful for your generosity towards me. Also, I thank you for your future support of building our black alumni network by planting seeds through donations to form more scholarships for more students of color here at the university.
Sincerely,
Brandi J. Galloway
