Regina Hopper B.A.’81, J.D.’85 joined the Arkansas Alumni Association Board of Directors in July 2017 and began a two-year term as the board president on July 1, 2024.

During her term as board president, Hopper’s goals for the Arkansas Alumni Association include making the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House a dynamic conduit for alumni connections at the U of A, showcasing the professional accomplishments and philanthropic generosity of our alumni, and highlighting our association’s programs that build valuable connections across the U of A family — specifically the Alumni Scholarship and Johnson Fellows programs.

“As a dedicated member of the National Board of Directors for the past seven years, Regina has been committed to the work of the association and regularly attends a wide range of alumni activities to understand all aspects of our programming,” said Brandy Cox Jackson M.A.’07, Ph.D’23, associate vice chancellor and executive director of the Arkansas Alumni Association. “She is committed to serving her fellow alumni and strengthening the visibility and brand of the Arkansas Alumni Association and the University of Arkansas.”

Throughout her career, Hopper has applied her legal training to professional work in broadcast journalism, communications, transportation and energy and is a nationally recognized leader in advocacy initiatives. As an attorney, Hopper specializes in strategic communications for high-profile state and federal cases. She has served as CEO in the transportation, energy and telecommunication industries, and as a news correspondent, Hopper is an Emmy-award winner for investigative reporting on CBS’ 48 Hours.

Hopper now lends her voice to various media including audiobooks, long-form journalism, podcasting, and documentary film production through her media company, Regina Hopper Productions. She continues to leverage her corporate communications expertise providing crisis, legal and strategic communications services in the areas of public policy, advocacy, politics, journalism, the courts, and the law.

Hopper holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas and is a graduate of the Executive Program at the Harvard Business School. She was named an Arkansas Alumni Association Johnson Fellow at the U of A in 2011. In 2018, Hopper was honored with the Gayle Pettus Pontz Award by the University of Arkansas School of Law Women’s Law Student Association. She is a life member of the Arkansas Alumni Association.
