Anthony McAdoo ’98, ‘05, senior director, alumni programs, for the Arkansas Alumni Association, has been appointed by Gov. Mike Beebe to the Arkansas Division of Volunteerism Advisory Council.

The purpose of the council is to advise the Arkansas DHS Division of Volunteerism on the development of policies, goals and priorities pertaining to the promotion and encouragement of volunteer activities throughout the state. Members are individuals who are active community volunteers.

Council members are appointed for a three-year term and meet quarterly. Some duties include providing guidance and support to DOV staff members, judging Community of the Year applications, judging the Community Service Award applications, providing suggestions on the direction of the strategic plan and help implementing specific programs. DOV views the governor’s appointees as an asset and strives to engage them and their talents in significant ways.
