workin_like_a_hogUniversity of Arkansas faculty and staff members of the Alumni Association got to unwind with Tex-Mex food and drinks at the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House on May 12, 2009, while learning about what they’ve helped the Association accomplish through their support.

As part of the first Faculty & Staff Membership Appreciation Day, the Alumni Association staff announced the “Workin’ Like A Hog” Facebook group to encourage those who work at the University of Arkansas to connect with each other and to stay up-to-date. Also each of the 93 faculty and staff members in attendance received a special “Workin’ Like A Hog” t-shirt from Houndstooth in recognition of their membership support.

Laurel Draudt, event organizer and newest assistant director to the Alumni Association staff, thanked faculty and staff for their continued service and dedication to the University of Arkansas and the Alumni Association. She highlighted some of the benefits of being a member of the Alumni Association and how their support gives back to alumni, friends and others at the University of Arkansas. Paul Bixby, chairman of Staff Senate, gave special recognition Jay Keith for his dedication and service to the University of Arkansas community and welcomed him as a non-traditional New Grad member of the Arkansas Alumni Family.

As a result of faculty and staff dedication on campus, faculty and staff memberships have increased 25 percent since July 2008. The Alumni Association recently was able to donate $100 to the Staff Senate Scholarship Fund. With the continued support from University of Arkansas faculty and staff, the Alumni Association will continue to grow and serve the entire University of Arkansas Family.
