Darrin Malone B.S.A.’88 M.A.’90 joined the Arkansas Alumni Association National Board of Directors in July 2024 and serves on the board’s internal and external relations committees.
Malone is a seasoned agricultural leader with over 35 years of experience in the industry. He currently serves as the southeast market development specialist for Amvac Chemical Corporation, specializing in crop protection and green solutions.
Throughout his career, Malone has excelled in sales, product management and technical agronomy, demonstrating his expertise for industry giants such as Corteva Agriscience and Dupont. In 2016, he received the Dupont Pioneer Southern Region Hitchpin Award, celebrating his teamwork and leadership skills within the organization.
“Darrin has been a tremendous asset to the National Alumni Board of Directors. We are greatly appreciative of his perspectives as an alumnus of the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences as well as a native of Paragould, Arkansas,” said Brandy Cox M.A.’07 Ph.D’23, associate vice chancellor and executive director of the Arkansas Alumni Association. “Darrin has been active and engaged in all aspects of the board since being elected to his first term last year. We look forward to his continued leadership and perspective.”
In addition to his professional success, Malone is characterized by his service and generosity to the University of Arkansas. He was instrumental in creating the Delta Classic Scholarship Golf Tournament, which has raised more than $500,000 and funded over 220 scholarships for eligible students. Malone is an annual contributor to the tournament and serves as the tournament director.
Malone is a member and former Bumpers College Alumni Society board president. In 2018, the Department of Crop, Soil and Environmental Sciences at the University of Arkansas honored him as the Outstanding Alumnus. As a U of A student, Malone served as Agronomy Club president and was recognized as the department’s outstanding senior.
Malone lives in Paragould, Arkansas, with his wife, Kelly. Their twins, Shea B.S.’23 and James B.S.’24, are recent U of A graduates. Away from work, Malone enjoys time with his family, sports, and outdoor activities, particularly fishing.
Malone holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Bumpers College. He is a life member of the Arkansas Alumni Association.
