By Raven Cook, President

The Black Students Association (BSA) serves to promote the educational, moral and cultural awareness among black students at the University of Arkansas. Our goal is to provide a forum in which to make scholarly decisions that promote educational success of minorities in higher education. The challenge of preserving a historically unique identity while maintaining the standard of academic excellence will be surpassed.

The goals of BSA are:

  • Helping students work to excel academically to position themselves for scholarship and preparing them for graduate school
  • Building relationships with administration in order to help students voice their concerns
  • Promoting the African-American Studies Department so that students can learn their history and use it to promote the community
  • Working to unify all the Registered Student Organizations at the University of Arkansas
  • Working to unite with all black student organizations in the Southeastern Conference and United States

BSA membership and participation shall be free from discrimination on the basis of race, religion, color, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age or gender. For more information, contact Raven Cook, BSA President, at rnc001@uark.edu.
