BAS E-Zine Photo_Sharnell ColemanMy name is Sharnell Coleman, and I’m senior from Memphis, Tennessee. As a First Generation scholar, I have made it my duty to set the example not only for my family but also for those in my community. Many told that I would achieve the likes of success; however, organizations like the University of Arkansas Black Alumni Society believed in myself and many others. With this organization’s guidance, I have strengthened my leadership skills tremendously.

To begin, I am an Apparel Merchandising and Product Development major with a Retail minor. During this past summer, I was selected to intern with Sam’s Club Home Office in Bentonville, AR on one of their replenishment teams. Although handling business is significant, giving back is just as important. And as a senior leader on this campus, I currently serve as the Black Students Association President, Students Advocating Stronger Sisterhood mentor, and a three time Razorback Outreach for Community and Knowledge mentor.
