Curtis A Johnson III is the Director of Campus Safety/Government Relations for Arkansas Baptist College. He was elected in 2014 as the President of HBCU-LEEA. He has over 20 years’ experience in law enforcement, security and risk management. He started his career 1985 with the Arkansas Army National Guard as a military policeman serving for five years. Upon completion of college, he joined Wal-mart Stores, Inc. Loss Prevention team as a District Loss Prevention Supervisor where he was responsible for 17 Wal-mart Supercenters. After approximately ten years of service, he move to take a position with Securitas, Inc. to secure Alltel Communications Headquarters in Little Rock, Arkansas.
In 2006, he entered the Higher Education arena and joined Arkansas Baptist College as the Director of Facilities Operations/Campus Safety. He held this position for approximately seven years with a true focus of rebuilding an historic institution. As the campus continued to grow, his role shifted towards Government Relations and building a platform for Historically Black Colleges and Universities law enforcement in the state of Arkansas. In 2013, he served as Chief of Police for Morehouse College before returning to Arkansas Baptist College.

Accomplishments
- Built a Campus Safety program from the ground up.
- Established a solid partnership with Harding University, Philander Smith College and Arkansas Children’s Hospital for House Bill 227 which gives Private Colleges and Universities the right to form police departments.
- Historically Black Colleges and Universities – Law Enforcement and Executives (HBCU-LEEA), member since 2007.
- Completed 22 million in Capital Improvements in Arkansas Baptist College.
