Love, fear, career, or marriage, which do you choose?

Houston, TX, June 16, 2015:  Brenda A. White, author of The Best I Have to Offer is set to release her sophomore novel, The Final Offer on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 in paperback format on her website www.brendaawhite.com and eBook format on Amazon Kindle and Barnes & Noble Nook. The Final Offer is a story of love, fear, betrayal, and forgiveness. The storyline is a continuation of her debut novel, The Best I Have to Offer.  Through humor and a drama filled journey of life lessons, Brenda demonstrates the importance of bringing your complete self into a relationship while striving for continuous self-improvement and maturity through joy, pain, and adversity.

Brenda’s books bring excitement around developing relationships, true friendships, entrepreneurship, dealing with family, and other outside influences that require time, attention, and talent to resolve. She reminds readers that intentionally giving the best you have to offer in any situation is vital.  There are three underlying messages in Brenda’s novels that cannot be ignored:

  1. YOU MUST ALWAYS BE THE BEST VERSION OF YOU – Your authentic self is who you are long term; so own it and strive for improvement. Behaving like someone else or pretending for someone new will not last. You, at your best, are what you have to offer.
  2. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER – Ask the right questions in the beginning. The excitement of meeting someone new and having that chemistry that ignites is powerful. But, it’s still important slow down and get to know who the person really is by asking the right questions and observing patterns through different experiences with the person. Better decisions are made when knowledge is present.
  3. FORGIVENESS IS FOR YOU – Set yourself free, forgiveness is not for the wrongdoer, it’s for you. Exercise your freedom by not allowing the weight to hold you down. Holding on to past hurts can have major consequences in the end.

Readers will engage and understand these things for themselves. The book is 336 pages. A paperback copy is $15.00 and the ebook is $9.99.

Interview Q&A

Dr. Michael McFrazier:  What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Brenda A. White:  I’m fulfilling a dream. I love to teach, inspire, and empower and I can do that in my writing. I can entertain in my writing. And it’s easy to encourage others to walk out their dreams and desires when I’ve done it a few times.

Dr. Michael McFrazier:  How do you get inspired to write?
Brenda A. White:   The desire to complete all of the titles on my vision board but music helps also. I choose the music genre based on what I need to write. For example, Classical or jazz music is best when I’m writing facts or more serious topics, Gospel music if I’m trying to pen something spiritual, Neosoul/R&B and sometimes Country when I want to write love scenes or stories. After I get a flow going, I need complete silence to get it the way I want it so the music goes off.

Dr. Michael McFrazier: How do you deal with writer’s block?
Brenda A. White: Writer’s block is rare for me but I am intentional. I’m observant. I watch people. I listen to people. I listen to music. I read, watch movies, TV, I take notes, etc. Then there is usually a fictional topic, scene, or dialog rolling around in my head afterward that stemmed from “What if…”. The self-discipline to sit down and get it on paper is the key to complete the scene, the chapter, the book.

Dr. Michael McFrazier:  What are you currently working on?
Brenda A. White:   I’m trying to blog on a regular basis at brendaawhite.blogspot.com but…you know. 🙂 For my budding life coaching practice, I’m working on a career navigation book for entry level to mid level managers in any organization. It’s about behaviors and the importance of mentors, sponsors, advocates, and coaches.

For another fun, inspirational, and entertaining read, I’m working on my third novel about motorcycle clubs and what some of them represent. They’re not motorcycle gangs, well the ones I know anyway. It’s totally different from what some people think and I want to shed some light on it from my perspective. I’ve been around several motorcycle clubs since I was sixteen, never a member of one but close enough. I will tell the story from a sixteen year old girl’s point of view after her brother was killed in a motorcycle accident. Was it an accident or foul play? And will she find out before she falls in love.  I’m not firm on the title yet so I won’t say it but it’ll be fun. Oh my gosh, I have so much writing to do.

Dr. Michael McFrazier: Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Brenda A. White:   My most recent book, The Final Offer came from the ending of the first novel, The Best I Have to Offer and how it ended. Some of my readers did not appreciate the cliffhanger in that one. All of the love, drama, and being complete before you enter a new relationship did not go over well knowing they, uhhh… well, you can read it for yourself. 🙂 I did not plan to write a sequel or further details on Gary and Mia but my readers kept asking for more of them so I had to give the people what they wanted. Five years later.

Dr. Michael McFrazier:  What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Brenda A. White:   Become an avid reader. Start writing. Just do it. Create your space, shut out the noise, and just write whatever you’re thinking, whatever your story is. It doesn’t matter if it makes sense at the moment. Write until the words are no longer flowing (which they probably won’t), before you know it, the words will turn into a ninety thousand word novel. You can go back and edit it later. Now there’s a whole research thing that goes along with what you want to write about, determining if there’s a readership for your topic, knowing how many books are already written for the topic, etc.
