University of Arkansas alumna Dr. Kasey McCall-Smith B.A.’98, J.D.’01 has built an impressive international career advancing human rights and treaty law. After earning her Juris Doctor and qualifying for the Bar in Arkansas and Tennessee, Kasey began her career in legal practice before pivoting to academia. Her journey took her to Scotland, where she earned an LL.M. and Ph.D. in public international law from the University of Edinburgh — her academic home ever since.

As a proud alumna, Lisy earned her Bachelor of Arts in communication from the University of Arkansas in 1997. She is pursuing her master’s degree from the School of Journalism and Strategic Media. Her deep connection to the university fuels her dedication to keeping fellow alumni engaged and connected.

After a decade of research and strategic planning, the Arkansas Alumni Association is expanding its membership to include all graduates of the University of Arkansas, beginning on the day they receive their degree. This new philanthropic membership model ensures that every graduate is welcomed as a member while encouraging philanthropic support across campus. At the same time, the association remains committed to its Life Membership program, which continues to be a cornerstone of its mission.
