Myron D. “Mike” Macechko, executive director of the Arkansas Alumni Association, announced that after 24 years of service, he will retire in June 2012. Since his arrival in 1988, Macechko has stayed true to the mission of the Association, which is to connect and serve the alumni of the University of Arkansas. Under his leadership, the Association’s membership numbers have more than doubled, making it one of the top 10 universities in the nation for alumni who claim membership, as well as membership retention. The Association staff, as well as his university colleagues applaud Macechko for his leadership and dedication to the profession and wish him well on his future endeavors.
