Believing that high school is a time for learning about self-respect, motivation and confidence, Brittney Dito, of Lewisville, TX, views the past four years as an opportunity to “figure out what your muse is that pushes you to want the best for yourself.” Devoting much of her time to studying and preparing for projects and test, she understands the determination and hard work it takes to succeed.

Although she resides in Texas, she admits that the she has always wanted to attend the University of Arkansas. The beauty the campus possesses, the reputable academic programs and the kindness of the people led her to deciding to make the move to Fayetteville this coming fall.

“I am so grateful to have received the Dallas Chapter University of Arkansas Alumni Scholarship in the amount of $1,000. It is renewable so I hope to use it continuously throughout my four years by furthermore striving and applying myself to succeed…I am so thankful for this scholarship and moreover, generous people like you,” she said.

Prepared to major in nursing, it was her grandmother who led her to the particular field. “Ever since I was about 15, I wanted to follow in the footsteps of my grandmother and become a nurse. I have such compassion for others, a desire to help those in need and a kind spirit,” she remarked.

Hopeful that her time on campus will lead to many great accomplishments and much happiness, she looks forward to pursuing her degree and taking part in the various aspects of campus life. Uncertain of which organizations and clubs she plans to join, she does look forward to joining a sorority.

“Thank you again for this wonderful scholarship and giving me this opportunity. It’s a pleasure to say that I am going to the University of Arkansas.”
