The Arkansas Alumni Association and the U of A recognize faculty with the Faculty Distinguished Achievement and the Charles and Nadine Baum Faculty Teaching Awards.
The University of Arkansas said Wednesday that Eli Jones, the dean of Louisiana State University’s E.J. Ourso College of Business, will become dean of the Sam M. Walton College of Business, effective July 1.
The Arkansas Alumni Association has chosen Hayden Pacl to receive the 2011 “Roads” Scholarship. Having lived in Texas, Australia, Mexico, and now Bentonville, Pacl has been exposed to many cultures and traditions.
The Arkansas Alumni Association has chosen to award Jacob Costello with a $2,500 “Roads” Scholarship. A resident of Wesley, Costello was home-schooled during his high school years. However, for the past three semesters, he has been enrolled at the University of Arkansas as a part-time concurrent student.
Jackson Eldridge has been chosen by the Arkansas Alumni Association to receive the 2011 “Roads” Scholarship. Attending Springdale High School, Eldridge devoted much of his time to studying and participating in school organizations.
Jennifer Conner has received the 2011 Board of Directors Scholarship from the Arkansas Alumni Association. A resident of Plano, TX, Conner is active in her high school’s various activities. A member of National Honors Society, captain of the speech and debate team and a volunteer attorney for Plano Municipal Teen Court, she manages to find a balance between her extracurricular activities and academics.
Steven Hicks, of Newnan, GA, has been chosen by the Atlanta Chapter of the Arkansas Alumni Association to receive the 2011 scholarship, in the amount of $1500, for the 2011-2012 school year.
Kali Lantefield is the latest recipient to receive the 2011 Board of Directors Scholarship by the Arkansas Alumni Association. A resident of Leawood, KS, she was actively involved in many of her school and community activities. Not only did she hold leadership positions in Student Council and Model United Nations, but she was a mentor for freshmen students and a leader at Kanakuk Kamps.
The Arkansas Alumni Association has chosen Myles Robinson as the latest recipient of the 2011 Board of Directors Scholarship. A resident of Fenton, MO, he was actively involved in sports through high school and excelled in both football and volleyball.
The Arkansas Alumni Association has chosen to award Nathan Downs, of Frisco, TX, with the 2011 Board of Directors Scholarship. While a student at Centennial High School, Downs was an active member of National Honors Society and UIL accounting. The study habits and organizational skills he obtained in high school, he believes, will help him once he arrives on campus in the fall.
