This October, University of Arkansas alumni, students, faculty and staff will celebrate the “Call Heard ‘Round the World” during Homecoming 2010. The Homecoming theme and logo were announced at the first Homecoming Reveal Rally held Wednesday, September 22. More than 200 spectators gathered at the Arkansas Union Mall to hear the announcement from the Student Alumni Association Board of Directors. They were also there to see performances by members of the Razorback Marching Band and Razorback Cheer Squad.
The Arkansas Razorbacks Are Bowl Bound! Can you predict which one we’ll go to? Share your thoughts with us. Where will the Razorback’s go this year?
The Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House was the place to be prior to the South Carolina vs. Arkansas game! Although it was the second early morning game you cannot squash Razorback spirit as members and their guests came out bright and early to Call those Hogs.
Following the 2009 Homecoming theme, “A Red & White Affair: Celebrating 100 Years of Razorback Pride,” the week-long schedule of events leading up to the victorious Eastern Michigan vs. Arkansas game carried on a tradition that officially began in 1922. Throughout the week, fraternities and sororities, registered student organizations and residence halls competed for points. The Homecoming winners were announced during half-time of the football game, where Kimberly L. Smith, a health science major from Hot Springs, was crowned queen.
This year the Homecoming Pre-Game Rally was a real treat for members and their guests. Although a late game or Trick-or-treating was right around the corner the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House overflowed with Pride & Passion as over 600 Razorback fans joined us for the Eastern Michigan vs. Arkansas Homecoming Pre-Game Rally and Membership Appreciation Day.
An early game and cold weather were not near enough to stop fans from showing their Razorback Spirit as Arkansas geared up to face off against Auburn. The Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House was alive with Pride & Passion as over 700 Razorback fans joined us for the Auburn vs. Arkansas Pre-Game Rally and got ready to cheer on the Hogs.
The Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House was the place to be prior to the Georgia vs. Arkansas game! This first Pre-Game Rally of the 2009 season was bigger and better than ever. About 800 Razorback fans enjoyed the burgers and hot dogs, beverages and gathering around the huge, new projection screen to watch other football games. Of course, no Alumni Association Pre-Game Rally would be complete without a visit from the Razorback cheerleaders. Then it’s just a short walk across the street to Razorback Stadium.
Kick off the football season with gear from the Arkconnection Alumni Store and receive a 10% discount on every merchandise item on the store site. The offer is valid through the month of September 2009 and applies to both member and non-member pricing while supplies last.
Arkansas Alumni Association members and their guests are invited to come home to the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House before each Fayetteville home football game to “Call Those Hogs” at this year’s Pre-Game Rallies. This year promises to be even bigger and better than last year.
