Above all, being a member of the Razorback family means being a part of the best category a person could claim. It means that when you’re halfway across the world studying abroad, you meet up with fellow Hogs because they can make you feel like you’re home when you’re homesick. It means when you’re in the airport and see someone in a Razorback shirt, you become instant friends. It means being a part of something much bigger than yourself that makes your heart swell with pride just thinking about it. It means being willing to vouch for and mentor Hogs, even if you’ve never met them before.

A visit with Tevin Wooten B.A. ’14

Winning two Emmys at the age of just 25, making a tangible mark covering hurricanes and storms on national television, earning his first bachelor’s degree in journalism in only 3.5 years from the University of Arkansas and then pursuing a second bachelor’s in meteorology from Florida State University, are just some of Wooten’s many achievements. He attributes most of them to his time at the U of A.

Message from the BAS President – July 2019

The Black Alumni Society is excited about the new year and the dynamic team that will help build on our theme: “Connect with the Past; Engage and Be Present, and Inspire for the Future.” We know that our University of Arkansas experience did not end with a cap, gown, and degree on sheepskin paper. Those symbols of completion were actually a call to higher service and a reminder that we are caretakers of the lighthouse. Our shared experiences connect us in a special way and the farther we cast our light, the sharper our vision becomes for the tasks that lie ahead.
