Dr. Gearhart will give a short presentation on the current state of the University along with future plans. He will be available afterward to address questions from the audience. He has identified Houston as one of the cities that the university is focusing on for recruiting prospective students. While in Houston, he will visit schools and alumni throughout the area.
Suzie Stephens is a woman who is constantly reinventing herself. Whether it is through her work, community involvement or worldly travels, Stephens continues to find ways to make her fast-paced lifestyle more fun and exciting.
Forty-nine years after graduating with her Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism, Nancy Philley Russ, an annual member of the Arkansas Alumni Association and member of the Capital Chapter, continues to view her alma mater with pride and appreciation. However, as she reflects on the years spent at the University of Arkansas and the people she has come to know, Russ acknowledges the important role that the Arkansas Alumni Association played in her academic career.
As the Pride of Arkansas Tour drove through the winter wonderland that is between Harrison and Mountain Home with its opaque morning skyline, rocky grags and abundant wildlife, the true beauty of the state of Arkansas was realized. From the hilltop of Mountain Home to the Delta of Jonesboro to San Antonio, Texas, with each passing mile our excitement for the Pride of Arkansas Tour increases.
Congratulations to the University of Arkansas Executive Committee on going Whole Hog. The committee has 100% membership participation in the Alumni Association. Your group, whether it’s your book club, business, department or tailgate group, just to name a few ideas, can do the same. Go Whole Hog today!
I just want to take a moment to welcome you back to campus. If this is your first semester at the university, in any capacity, then I want to welcome you aboard-you’re in for a great experience. There is nothing I like more than seeing campus once again fill up with students, faculty and staff, and the air of promise that infuses every fall semester.
Dr. G. David Gearhart has donated $25,000 to the Black Alumni Society Scholarship program. The gift is to focus on diversity, recruitment and retention at the University of Arkansas.
