The Dallas Chapter of the Arkansas Alumni Association has chosen to award Courtney Hayden, a native of Dallas, TX, with a scholarship for the 2011-2012 school year. Transferring from Southern Methodist University to the University of Arkansas her sophomore year, she is glad she made the move to Fayetteville and feels fortunate to have her family supporting her in her decision.
Courtney Hayden, of Dallas, TX, has been chosen to receive the 2011 Membership Scholarship from the Arkansas Alumni Association. Before coming to the University of Arkansas, Hayden attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas. With the encouragement of her two best friends, she decided to transfer to the University of Arkansas and admits she has “loved every minute of being up here and am glad I chose the U of A.”

Jennifer Irwin has made quite a name for herself in Northwest Arkansas. From working as the promotions manager and on-air spokesperson at Arkansas’ NBC 24/51, to working for Celebrate Magazine and now as a radio host with Magic 107.9, Irwin has excelled in the field of media and she attributes her success to her time spent at the University of Arkansas.
The Arkansas Alumni Association proudly announces its 2010 award recipients, all of whom personify the University of Arkansas’ tradition of excellence through service and leadership. All 10 honorees were recognized during the 66th annual Alumni Awards Celebration on Oct. 29 at the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House.
The Arkansas Alumni Association has awarded Katie Streepey with the Board of Directors Scholarship for the 2010-2011 school year. Hailing from Dallas, TX, Streepey maintained leadership positions in various sports and organizations.
As the Texas leg of the Pride of Arkansas Tour wound down in Houston on Feb. 4, the northern Arkansas part of the journey continued in Newport and Batesville. A bit of wintry weather didn’t stop multiple generations of alumni from sharing their tradition of attending the University of Arkansas. Scholarships were a common conversation piece as the Independence County Chapter is close to endowing a scholarship, something the Houston Chapter has been fortunate enough to have done for several years.
The Arkansas Alumni Association is partnering with Intercollegiate Athletics and the University to present opportunities for alumni, friends and Razorback fans to show their pride in the Dallas-Forth Worth area leading up to the Southwest Classic.
The Dallas Chapter Board, under the leadership of President Todd Green, is embarking on a strategic planning process that will outline a vision for what the largest out-of-state chapter for the Arkansas Alumni Association will become.
