Christine Lemieux, a Conway native, has been awarded a $2,500 “Roads” Scholarship by the Arkansas Alumni Association. Learning much about herself in high school, Lemieux devoted her time to taking AP and college level courses, playing various sports and participating in both academic and community organizations.
Britny Tomlin is the latest recipient of the 2011 “Roads” Scholarship, which was awarded by the Arkansas Alumni Association. As a resident of Conway, Tomlin played soccer and was a member of her schools’ Beta Club and National Honors Society.
A Conway native, Katie Standridge is the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship which was awarded by members of the Faulkner County Chapter of the Arkansas Alumni Association. In high school, for six years, she ran both cross country and track, which she claims is one of her greatest passions.
Elaine Kordsmeier has received a $2,500 “Roads” Scholarship awarded by the Arkansas Alumni Association. Growing up in Conway, she attended St. Joseph Catholic School and maintained 4.0 GPA, while being active in both basketball and softball. Graduating at the top of her class, she realizes just how much her determination and hard work in high school will carry over into her years at college.
Taylor Nicole Guinn, of Conway, has been awarded a “Roads” Scholarship by the Arkansas Alumni Association. Having much pride in her school, Conway Christian, Guinn appreciates the opportunities presented to her during this time in her life. Playing volleyball, basketball and softball, as well as becoming involved in gymnastics, she has taken her strengths in athletics and used that to gain strong leadership skills in sports and other activities.
On Feb. 5, the first week of the 2010 Pride of Arkansas Tour concluded with a lunch in Searcy and an evening reception in Conway. The Alumni staff hosts are coming home having made lots of new Razorback friends and special memories.
