Since 1961, the Arkansas Alumni Association has proudly recognized the exemplary achievements of University of Arkansas faculty through the Arkansas Alumni Association Distinguished Faculty Achievement Awards amongst three categories of accomplishment: teaching, research and public service. Additionally, the University of Arkansas honors a faculty member with the Charles and Nadine Baum Faculty Teaching Award. For the first time, the Baum Award winner also will be honored at the Alumni Awards Celebration during Homecoming this fall.

Captain Andy Kelly describes the University of Arkansas in a few small words: "a big school on a small campus." Growing up in Joplin, Missouri, Kelly researched various schools to attend; however, the University of Arkansas offered everything he wanted in a university. The scenery, the friendliness of the people, the rallying support of the Razorbacks and being offered a scholarship all appealed to Kelly, presenting him with an opportunity he just couldn't pass up.

2010 Distinguished Alumni and Faculty Award Recipients Announced


Congratulations to the staff in Biological and Agricultural Engineering at the University of Arkansas for going Whole Hog. The staff has 100 percent membership in the Arkansas Alumni Association. Your group, whether it’s your book club, business, department or tailgate group, just to name a few ideas, can do the same. Whole Hog groups receive a certificate along with having their photo published in Arkansas magazine and their group name and photo listed on the Alumni Association website.

Entering the University of Arkansas in 2003, it was the College of Engineering's remarkable reputation that caught Marcus Hopkins' eye in deciding where he wanted to go to school. He knew he could get a degree in civil engineering that would be well-respected by future employers, and it was through this degree choice that he began to get involved.

With the opportunity to get an extra ticket or two for the kids, our memebers and friends did just that and turned out in numbers (family and all) for some good old Razorback family fun at Troy vs Arkansas Pre-Game Rally. Along with the Black Alumni Society's special guests, highschool sophmores from Eldorado Arkansas visiting the campus and exploring the possiblity of become future Razorback engineers, the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House was hoppin' with Pride & Passion.
