As a member of the Arkansas Alumni Association, Xavier Emery has so many stories about his experience at the University of Arkansas he could write a book. Growing up in Le Mans, France, Emery dreamed of attending school in the United States. After participating in a high school exchange program in Sugarland, TX, he knew he wanted to see more of America.
Since its founding in 1878, the Arkansas Alumni Association has stayed true to its mission—”to connect and serve the University of Arkansas family.” As new alumni form each year, it is the goal of the Association to maintain contact with those who wish to remain close to the university and show their support through donations, volunteerism, membership and chapter involvement.
With 100 percent membership, the Arkansas Alumni Association staff is certifiably Whole Hog. The staff challenges your group, whether it’s your book club, business, department or tailgate group, just to name a few ideas, to all become members of the Arkansas Alumni Association.
In today’s economy professional advancement is more challenging than ever. With stiff competition on every level, it’s important to develop a solid career network. The saying “It’s who you know, and more importantly it’s who knows you” is the newest mantra for the job seeking crowd.
The Arkansas Alumni Association proudly became certified as a member of the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce’s GreeNWAy Initiative during a ribbon cutting at the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House on July 13, 2010. The Alumni Association is the first University of Arkansas-affiliated organization to complete the certification process.
Anthony McAdoo ’98, ’05, senior director, alumni programs, for the Arkansas Alumni Association, has been appointed by Gov. Mike Beebe to the Arkansas Division of Volunteerism Advisory Council.
