jobshadowThe end of the year is hurriedly approaching and graduating college seniors are looking ahead to the job market, and for some, this can be a daunting task. Uncertain about future career paths and job opportunities, college graduates are looking for various avenues to seek insight, experience and opportunity. Here at the Arkansas Alumni Association, we are happy to share the news of a recent partnership between the Association and jobshadow.com. Developed and owned by alumnus Aaron Stahl ’03, the site offers virtual job shadowing for which the Alumni Association has launched a branded page for University of Arkansas alumni. The page features stories of Arkansas alumni in a collection of interviews describing a variety of jobs and career paths.

In managing Career Hogs, the Arkansas alumni career network, we continually look for interesting ways to engage and inform our alumni job seekers who range from recent graduates to young alumni, in addition to the more experienced professional.

Now U of A alumni have access to stories from the professionals as they explore career options. The featured job shadows are also organized by college or department. For both the alumni employer and job seeker, the benefits include added online exposure and the ability to link to a specific webpage to enhance the individual’s business and personal branding.

It also offers current and prospective students the opportunity to see Arkansas alumni using their degrees in the real world and serves as a recruiting tool to showcase the various colleges within the University of Arkansas.
