In an effort to promote the Arkansas Alumni Association’s new website, staff at the Association are launching the “Online Community Series.” Through the series, we will feature new online community tools, which will allow users to become familiar with using various aspects of the community.

As the first in the series, the Association is highlighting class notes. Class notes are featured in the quarterly magazine, Arkansas, exclusively for members of the Arkansas Alumni Association. Compiled from various sources, class notes include marriages, anniversaries and birth announcements, in memoriam, publications, career and education news, awards and milestones.

Visitors who log in to the community will see a link that reads “My Public Profile” at the top right corner of the page. Those who have not registered for the community may do so by selecting “Set up an Account.” By clicking on the “My Public Profile” link, registered users will be taken to a page showing their public profile information, as well as seven tabs, one of which reads “Class Notes.” From there, users may enter a new class note by selecting the appropriate category (i.e. birth announcement, career news, etc.) and type in the information. Images may be included, but must be less than 10MB in size, and in a jpeg, gif or png format.

Alumni and friends are encouraged to use this new feature, as it is an easy and effective way to stay connected. By providing this type of information, it not only keeps the Association informed and up-to-date, but it showcases, to readers of Arkansas magazine, the talents and successes of those associated with the University of Arkansas.
