A native of Edmond, OK, Kailey Kerr has been awarded a $500 scholarship from the Central Oklahoma Chapter. Focusing on academics and DECA, Kerr worked to maintain a high grade point average, all while completing fifteen hours worth of credit at the university in Edmond. Her decision to attend the University of Arkansas was based on the academic programs that are offered, as well as the welcomed feeling she had when touring the campus.

“Thank you for granting me the Central Oklahoma Chapter Scholarship to attend the University of Arkansas worth $500.00 for the 2011-2012 academic year. Including me, there are four children my parents must provide for, and receiving this scholarship helps them with the financial burden of paying for my college as well as taking care of the three other children,” she said.

One of the academic programs that Kerr looks forward to pursuing is pre-occupational therapy. With plans to apply to the occupational therapy master’s program once she has completed her pre-requisites, she is dedicated to the goals she has set. Aside from her studies, she hopes to join an organization that is dedicated to community service, as well as become a member of Greek Life.

Appreciative of the opportunity she has been given, Kerr wishes to give thanks to those within the Central Oklahoma Chapter for their generosity. “I have so much gratitude towards you for granting me this chance to help my family.”
