Favorite class and why
: Marketing Topics in Arkansas was my favorite class because it taught me so many different things about the state that I live in. I felt like it was relevant information that I could use in the future.

Most memorable moment
: My most memorable moment was when I was voted president of Black Alumni Society.

Noteworthy honors/achievements: Receiving a scholarship from the endowed scholarship from the Black Alumni Society, receiving at least a 3.0 every semester that I have been in college, receiving a scholarship from STORE, and receiving a scholarship from Harris/LaREW.

Summer highlights: Learning more about myself this summer was is the biggest highlight of the summer me. I decided to work three jobs and go to school. It taught me what I could and could not do and I came out a better person in the end.

What the Phoebe Todd Harris & Anne Harris La-Rew Alumni Endowed Scholarship means to you: This Scholarship means more to me than words can explain. If I didn’t have it, I would be struggling to find out a way to pay for all of my tuition without getting a huge loan. I love the fact that someone thought I was worthy enough to give me their money to help me pay for school.

Thank You Letter from TaJuan Warren

Dear Black Alumni Society Scholarship Committee,TaJuan Warren with Square

I humbly thank you for awarding me with the Reginald Kevin Murdock Jr. Academic Support Award of $1000. Being awarded this scholarship allows me to cover a portion of my cost of attendance at the UofA this academic year. This scholarship relieved me of accepting any loans for this academic year. I really appreciate being awarded.

I’m a very creative, involved, hardworking gentleman. My experiences in high school included being a 6’2 Power Forward, Tight End, Defensive End, and Mile Runner. Outside of sports I also held the position as Co-Captain of my Quiz Bowl team, Secretary of Forward Thinking For The Future (Math Club/Community Service group), and also working full-time hours at my local grocery store. I chose to attend the UofA because of its remarkable engineering program but moreover because every time I stepped on campus I felt at home.

While attending the UofA I plan to obtain my doctorate degree in either Mechanical Engineering or Computer Engineering. I am also planning to look into Greek life and intramural sports.

Once again I would like the Black Alumni Society Scholarship Committee to know exactly how grateful I am to receive the Reginald Kevin Murdock Jr. Academic Support Award. So again to you all I say thank you, thank you, thank you!

Sincerely,
TaJuan Warren
