volunteer_240x135Our volunteers are the heart and soul of the Alumni Association.  To ensure they have the best resources, the most current information, and the opportunity to network with each other, the Arkansas Alumni Association will host the Volunteer Leadership Summit 2013:  Charting a New Course.  The event is being sponsored by the Bank of America.

The Volunteer Leadership Summit is scheduled for Friday, September 13 at the U of A Global Campus on the downtown square from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Under the new leadership of Graham Stewart, Arkansas Alumni Association executive director, many changes have taken place within the Alumni Association.  The Alumni Association staff has been reorganized to more effectively serve and connect our alumni and friends and several changes have been made to the structure of our alumni chapters and societies.  The Volunteer Summit will help our volunteers navigate all of the new changes!

Last year, the Arkansas Alumni Association hosted several regional board retreats in Tulsa, Little Rock, Austin and one in Fayetteville for our societies.  This year, we will bring all of our chapters, societies, as well as the Student Alumni Board and Young Alumni Board, together for a full day of sharing best practices and interactive sessions on relevant topics. All volunteers are encouraged to attend the Volunteer Summit.

Some of the sessions that will be offered at the Volunteer Leadership Summit include:

  • Connecting Young Alumni (Panel)
  • Event Planning and Logistics
  • Recruiting and Engaging New Volunteers
  • Assessment/Strategic Planning
  • Membership – “Recruiting and Retaining”
  • Social Media & Communications – “Keeping our Razorback Family Connected”
