BAS LAREW_WALTON Richardson_SachaI greatly appreciate the honor of being selected to receive the Phoebe Todd Harris & Anne Harris LaRew Alumni Scholarship of $1000 per year. This money will help me purchase my books for class as well as any other materials I will need. In receiving this money, it will make this freshman year at the University of Arkansas far less financially stressful.

I have read a little about your family and history with the University of Arkansas and I wanted to share a little about myself. I graduated as the salutatorian of my class at Jacksonville High School. I participated in many clubs/organizations such as Student Council, Beta Club, National Honor Society, Principal’s Cabinet, etc. I was also very active. I played sports such as basketball, winning the state championship the 2013-2014 season, and softball. I also ran track for a year. I also love being able to help others with things from tutoring on a subject that they’re struggling with to giving some much needed advice. I was also an athletic trainer for our school’s football team for two years and I fell in love with it.

I hope to graduate from the University of Arkansas in 3-4 years majoring in kinesiology. I plan on becoming an athletic trainer in the near future. I applied for the athletic training program at the University, which is one of the reasons I was interested in going here. I can’t wait to be able to attend the football and basketball games. I hear the atmosphere gets crazy around those times. I planned on trying out for the basketball team, if not that then just playing in the women’s intramural team. I love being around sports and that’s what inspired me to become an athletic trainer.

Again, I just want to thank you for your time and thank you for allowing me to receive this scholarship. I am honored to be a recipient of the Phoebe Todd Harris & Anne Harris LaRew Alumni Scholarship. I’m very grateful for this money you have awarded me.

Sincerely,

Sacha Richardson
